Moni · Bundle ID com.moni.gwvacp · Version 1.0
Last updated: November 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Moni app ("Moni", "we", "us") handles, why, and the choices you have. Please read it together with our Terms of Service.
1. Information you create in Moni
When you tap Enter Moni, the app creates a Moni profile for you. No email address, phone number or password is requested. Moni generates a random account identifier and access key for this profile.
Depending on how you use Moni, the app keeps the following in its app storage on your iPhone:
- Profile: nickname, handle, optional profile photo, preferred techniques, gear line and signature.
- Frames you publish: the photo, title, prompt, spoken narration, optional ambient loop choice, and the text transcript of your narration.
- Voice replies, invite memos and chat messages: recordings, transcripts, photos and text you send in conversations.
- Activity: reactions, bookmarks, read state, daily counters, XP, level, badges, your Frames balance and Frames history.
- Safety records: creators you blocked, frames you removed from your feed, reports you filed and text that was held by the content filter.
- Preferences: voice-response default, transcription and ambient loop settings.
We do not ask for your real name, contacts, location or any government identifier.
2. Permissions
Moni asks for each permission through the standard iOS system dialog, only when you use the related feature. You can change any permission later in iOS Settings.
| Permission | When it is requested | What it is used for |
|---|---|---|
| Camera | When you open the shutter in Capture Studio or the camera in a chat | Taking the photo for a frame or a chat message |
| Microphone | The first time you record a narration, voice reply, invite memo or chat voice note | Recording your voice |
| Speech Recognition | The first time a recording is transcribed | Turning your recordings into text transcripts |
| Photos (add only) | When you tap Save to Photos on your own frame | Saving that frame to your photo library. Moni cannot read your library |
| Notifications | The first time the Home screen opens | Notifications related to the features you use |
Photo selection. When you pick an existing photo, Moni uses the iOS system photo picker, which shares only the photo you choose. Moni does not request access to your whole photo library.
Speech recognition. Transcription uses Apple's Speech framework. To provide this feature, Apple may process the audio of the recording being transcribed under Apple's own privacy policy. You can turn transcription off in Profile → Preferences & Sound.
Notifications. Moni sends notifications related to the features you use in the app, such as prompts and invites, according to how the app works. You can turn them off at any time in iOS Settings.
3. Outside generation services
Moni does not send your photos, recordings, transcripts, text or any other personal data to any outside generation or analysis service. No content in Moni is generated or analyzed by an outside model.
4. Facial data
4.1 What is collected
Moni does not collect facial geometry, faceprints, face templates or any other biometric identifiers. Moni does not run face detection, face recognition or face analysis on any image. The only images that may contain a face are photos that you choose to take or select yourself, such as your optional profile photo, the photo in a frame you publish, or a photo you send in a chat.
4.2 How it is used
Such a photo is used only to display it where you placed it: your profile, your published frame, or the conversation where you sent it. It is never used to identify a person, to build a profile of a face, for advertising, or to train any model.
4.3 Disclosure and sharing
Moni does not sell, rent, disclose or share photos that may depict a face with any third party. These photos are not sent to any analytics, advertising or outside model provider. They are kept in Moni's app storage on your iPhone.
4.4 Retention
A photo is kept until you delete it. Removing your profile photo or deleting your account removes the stored image file. Delete Account removes every photo you added to Moni.
4.5 Scope of this section
This Section 4 is our complete explanation of how Moni collects, uses, discloses, shares and retains any photo that may depict a face.
5. Purchases
Frames are purchased through Apple's App Store using StoreKit. Apple processes the payment; we never receive or store your card or payment details. Moni receives a transaction confirmation from Apple so it can add the purchased Frames to your balance and record the purchase in your Frames history.
6. Reports, blocking and content filtering
- Filtering. Titles, signatures and chat text are checked against a list of prohibited words before they are published. Matching text is held, is not published, and appears under Profile → Blocked & Reports.
- Remove from my feed. Hides a single frame from your feed immediately.
- Block. Hides a creator's frames, replies and messages from you immediately.
- Report. You choose a reason, Moni creates a ticket (for example
MON-1A2B3C), hides the reported creator from you, and opens a pre-filled email to our support team. The email contains the ticket number, content type, content identifier, creator name, reason and any details you add. It is sent only if you choose to send it from your mail app. We use report emails only to review and act on the report.
7. Tracking and advertising
Moni does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, does not use the advertising identifier, does not show third-party advertising and does not sell personal data.
8. Exiting and deleting your account
- Exit Moni ends the current session and returns to the welcome screen. Your profile is kept so you can enter again later.
- Delete Account (Profile → Delete Account) permanently erases your profile, profile photo, frames, recordings, transcripts, voice replies, chat messages, reactions, bookmarks, reports, held text, settings, XP, level, badges, Frames balance and Frames history. Deleted data cannot be recovered. Built-in prompts and sample creator content remain in the app.
9. Children
Moni is intended for people aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly allow anyone under 18 to use Moni. If you believe a minor is using Moni, contact us and we will help remove their content.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Moni changes. The "Last updated" date above shows the latest version. Continued use of Moni after an update means you accept the updated policy.
